First Garden Center visit of the year!!

How exciting is the first trip of the season to the local Garden Center? Very. And always overwhelming, so I went on my lunch break. This way I couldn't spend 20 minutes standing infront of the Anemone trying to decide which color I want.

Long story short, I walked out with 9 plants and 30 less dollars in my bank account, not too bad.

I'm working on transforming the weedy, St. John's wart patch behind my apartment into a garden of my own. Turns out the soil is pretty good, someone has worked it before. There are remnants of past life; a pansy here, a bulb there. Someone cared about this little plot in the past, it's time for it to shine once more.

I don't really plan out my gardens, I just buy what catches my eye and find a spot for it. It seems to work out fine. And then there are the free treats, which I may find less of this year seeing as I no longer work in the hort industry. Oh how I long for those days, fingers always dirty, something new budding out everyday. Office life sucks big time. My 13 office plants do their best to cheer my up, the red-leafed banana is working over time with the two new leaves it has produced for me since the sun came out again, but I long to be outside, working around plants again.
